South East Alaska is a big part of why this state is known as the "Great Land." Fjords, waterfalls, glaciers, and snow-capped peaks make up the surroundings.

Juneau

Juneau, Alaska's capital city is the third largest city in the state. Located at the base of towering mountains overlooking the Gastineau Channel, the rich culture and history is found throughout the town. Juneau has great dining, shopping and lodging, while being surrounded by awe-striking views. The Tongass Rainforest climate gives Juneau it's lush terrain and vibrant wildflowers. The Tlingit and Haida Indians were the first settlers to Juneau.



Ketchikan

A scenic town located along the shores of coastal mountains and surrounded by protected waterways, Ketchikan is a popular cruising destination. Ketchikan’s nickname, The Salmon Capital of the World comes from its days as a salmon canning center. Today, Native American influence can be seen in majestic totem poles downtown. This truly is a spectacular town to visit.

Sitka

Sitka is located on Baranof Island that lies beneath towering mountains and a volcano, considered to be Alaska's most beautiful seaside town. This lovely town has a combination of native culture, Russian history, and Alaskan wilderness.

Petersburg

Petersburg is a town that still makes its living from the sea and is not a port of call for large cruise ships. Go where the big ships can't and visits this unique and thriving fishing village with a strong Norwegian heritage. Petersburg is located on Frederick Sound and it is near the summer feeding grounds of hundreds of humpback whales.

Wrangell

The community of Wrangell is located on the north end of Wrangell Island on Alaska's Inside Passage in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Wrangell is located between the town of Petersburg in the north and Prince of Wales Island in the southwest. The Tongass National Forest Tongass is America’s largest national forest and the largest intact temperate rainforest in the world. With more than a 100 inches of rain per year, the forests provides critical habitat for grizzly bears, black bears, Sitka black-tailed deer, wolves and wild salmon.
