My Summer aboard the Zodiac
During the summer of '07 I had the good fortune of interning aboard the Schooner Zodiac. It was a fantastic experience, the kind that stays with you forever. Sailing through small Island passages, shore excursions to see the area's wonderful towns (Victoria, Friday Hbr, Roche Hbr, etc...) or just to explore an uninhabited piece of paradise, kayaking, nautical history, steering the ship, or simply lounging around on deck while seals and other wildlife float by, behaving as though nothing out of the ordinary was going on. The sense of team work and accomplishment that you get every time you hoist, adjust, or furl the sails is one of a kind. Between sailing maneuvers the atmosphere is relaxed and down to earth, and the food is something else! I would recommend it to everyone, except of course those who love boredom.
